Midnight Mass Review
#MidnightMass #Review
Midnight Mass is not your traditional TV horror. It takes its time to build the story and the characters. It wants you to feel the agony they do, along with their questionable faith. Religion plays a massive part of the show, much more than the gore and fear. There is a supernatural threat looming but the biggest fears in the show come from the fear of the unknown. This island is full of broken people, wrestling with past mistakes and trying to come to terms with questionable miracles taking place in the small town. This show isn't about jump-scares or by-the-book storytelling tropes. Instead it challenges the audience to reflect on their own beliefs and how they have judged those different than them. It's a very slow-burn but one I felt paid off very well as the 7-part show unfolded. One of the best Netflix has to offer!
