Grubhub founder Mike Evans joins us to talk about his upcoming book "Hangry: A Startup Journey". Mike takes us on his journey, which started when he took a $140 check from his first customer and quit his job to focus on Grubhub, which he steered to become one of the most dynamic, successful, and revolutionary startups in the world.

Mike was hungry and tired one night back in 2002. As an avid coder, he decided to come up with a system to make ordering food easier, creating a database of local restaurants that delivered to his location. Over the next decade, Mike grew his little delivery guide into the world’s premier online ordering website. In doing so, he entered the company of an elite few entrepreneurs to take a startup from an idea all the way to an IPO.

In "Hangry", he details the steps of building an innovative business, with each chapter including sharp lessons for entrepreneurs and startups, that Mike learned on the fly as he piloted GrubHub’s meteoric rise. But shocking everyone, at the pinnacle of startup success, Mike leaves it all behind, quitting the company he started to bike across the United States in search of balance. Eventually, the grand vistas of America bring the lessons of the past into focus, driving the realization that for entrepreneurs a hunger for success doesn’t end.
