If you want to join the Canadian armed forces then of course being physically fit is the key to ensuring you pass the basic fitness testing and standard needed to apply and serve. It goes beyond just passing the basic tests. You need to prepare yourself beyond the minimum and focus on exceeding the standard so you are operationally ready for whatever you may need to do in your job role.

Ruck marching is one of those things you can prepare for but take it slow and steady! Do not overdo it!!
