Mimi Parker has died
1Alan Sparhawk, Mimi Parker's husband and bandmate, confirmed her passing. Mimi Parker was the drummer, singer, and composer for the Minnesota indie band Low. Parker received a December 2020 ovarian cancer diagnosis. Her age was estimated to be 54 or 55.
On social media, the band posted the information. โFriends, itโs hard to put the universe into language and into a short message, but She passed away last night, surrounded by family and love, including yours. Keep her name close and sacred. Share this moment with someone who needs you. Love is indeed the most important thing.โ
The announcement comes after a number of live performances were postponed owing to worries over Parker's health. Parker was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in late 2020, started treatment in 2021, and made a public announcement about her condition in a podcast interview at the beginning of 2022.
