Minecraft 1.17 Caves & Cliffs Snapshot 20w51a ▫ Axolotls Are The Cutest Mobs Ever!
3,504Minecraft has published Snapshot 20w51a, the fifth Java Edition snapshot for the 1.17 Caves & Cliffs Update!
This update introduces Axolotls, which come in four common colours and one rare variant! These adorable mobs will spawn in Lush Caves in future, but for now they can be spawned from spawn eggs and scooped up in a bucket!
Axolotls will help you fight underwater mobs including fish, squid, guardians, and the drowned. They breed with tropical fish, play dead when attacked, and even have regenerative powers!
There are also updates to sculk sensors, which are now unable to detect players walking on wool, but can be silenced themselves when waterlogged! And finally, there's a new gamerule which allows for 1-player sleeping or sleep voting without the need for plugins or datapacks.
