My next Xclusive Playthrough series will feature the Echoing Void DLC within the game Minecraft Dungeons! This game released on the Xbox One on May 26th, 2020. It was developed Mojang Studios and Double Eleven and published by Xbox Game Studios.

In this video, I begin exploring the world in search of the lost Ender Eyes.

Minecraft Dungeons is an isometric, dungeon crawling hack-n-slash RPG game that revolves around the player and their friends. This game is heavily centered on playing with a party, however, it can be played solo (with the difficulty being adjusted based on how many people are currently playing with you - up to a max of 4). The game includes a very simple story that has a very broad plot, which works in its favors as it allows the devs to be creative with the DLC. The player and their friends have to fight their way through many dungeons filled with scary monsters in their pursuit of hunting down the Arch Illager - a powerful mage that is attempting to take over the world. He was shunned by his own people so he turned to the evil side, found the Orb of Dominance and used that power to destroy villages and imprison the villagers that lived there. It is up to the group of heroes to take him down and stop his reign of terror once and for all.

The game borrows a lot of elements and ideas from other isometric dungeon crawling RPGs (especially the more recent and critically-acclaimed Diablo 3) although it does put a more simple spin on it and keeps it true to the world of Minecraft. The player has 3 gear slots (melee weapon, armor and a ranged weapon) while also have 3 artifact slots. These artifacts essentially act as your skills as there is no traditional skill tree in this game (you do level up which provides you with enchantment points that can be spent on your pieces of gear to give you passive powers and enhance your other pieces of gear or artifacts). The game includes a bunch of different weapons, armor sets and artifacts which allows the player a slew of options to adjust their character to their playstyle. All of these items increase the players power level which makes your character more powerful and allows the player to tackle the levels on higher difficulties. One thing that will most likely disappoint fans of the OG Minecraft game is that crafting (which is a huge staple of the OG game) is basically non-existent in this game, however, the hub has been updated to include a bunch of different merchants and a blacksmith that can upgrade your weapons to a higher power level.
