Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
Newgrounds is an entertainment website and company founded by Tom Fulp in 1995. It hosts user-generated content such as games, films, audio, and artwork composition in four respective website categories, and also provides visitor-driven voting and ranking of user-generated submissions. Fulp produces in-house content at the headquarters and offices in Glenside, Pennsylvania.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Newgrounds played an important role in Internet culture and in independent video gaming in particular. Newgrounds has been called a "distinct time in gaming history", and a place "where many animators and developers cut their teeth and gained a following long before social media was even a thing"
DOORS is a first-person horror experience created by Lightning_Splash and RediblesQW with additional help by GhostlyWowzers. The game was published under the group LSPLASH.
DOORS is currently on Floor 1 (Hotel), but some sneak peeks involving Floor 2 have been found.
DOORS is a first-person horror game with the end objective of reaching Door 100 while avoiding entities that try to kill players. Within the lobby, players can enter elevators that can consist of up from 1 to 4 players to explore The Hotel. (Up to 12 in private servers.) Players start in the elevator and are given a pre-run shop to purchase 4 available items: Vitamins, Lockpicks, Lighter, and Flashlight. Once players exit the elevator, players will enter the Reception Room and must receive the key from the billboard to unlock the door. The rest of the game is progressing by entering the following doors to enter the next room. Almost every following room is randomly generated, with a set of predetermined rooms that appear in a different order in every game that is played. Rooms will comprise interactable furniture like shelves that contain coins, items, key, or just nothing, and wardrobe/beds that allows players to hide in from Rush and Ambush. Some rooms will be dark—either naturally or by Ambush or Rush—and locked doors that require a hidden key to unlock.
Rush will announce its arrival by quickly flickering the lights when a new door is opened. Once the lights flicker, the players have a brief period of time to hide in a Wardrobe, under a bed, inside a vent, or get out of its path. Rush also cannot attack the player if they are in the barricaded stairways. Rush will rebound itself if the next room has a blocked off / damaged door. Rush will spawn in a room behind the players and quickly rush through all of the rooms until it reaches the one the players are in. It makes a low, distorted growling noise that grows louder as it comes closer. As it rushes through, it breaks all of the lights, and when its run is over it will open the door to the next room.
Rush will not appear if Seek's Crescendo is happening, because it overrides the flickering mechanic.
Ambush functions in the same fashion to Rush, making lights flicker (slightly longer, but to the untrained eye this is not noticeable), and the player must find find a hiding spot before it passes by. However, Ambush glows green or pink instead of the black fog that Rush has. He also features a different scream, and will rush up and down the hallway a minimum of two times and maximum of six before disappearing. Like Rush, it will break the lights in the room. Unlike Rush, Ambush will not open the door to the next room. Ambush's chances of appearing increase by each room, but rarely he can appear as early as Door 3.
Rainbow Friends is a horror experience created by Fragment Games.
Chapter 1 shows a group of students going on a field trip to an amusement park called Odd World. However, someone unknown force flips the sign causing the bus to crash while the players are dragged away, taken to a strange facility where each night they have to collect items while avoiding the monsters that lurk around the facility. At the end of each night, the remaining players are returned to a safe room, where they are given a small amount of time to prepare themselves for the next night. You must collect blocks, food packs, fuses and batteries, and even try to be careful not to wake up Blue from stepping on the balloons.
