Milo Rossi, host of the channel Miniminute man has recently released a video titled: "Tring to read a creationist propaganda book".

As we examine the description for a further explanation of the contents of the video we read:

In this video we dive headfirst into the 2009 Science of the Physical Creation in Christian Perspective textbook. This unusual piece was sent to me by a fan long ago and has been sitting on my bookshelf for years while I looked for an opportunity to crack it open. We will be exploring this fundamental Christian propaganda book's takes on evolution, geology and all things natural science as well as trying to unpack the harmful effects that a book like this can have on impressionable children. Join me as we take a dive down the rabbit hole of Creation Science.

Now before we dive into a full analysis and response to some of the claims made by Mr. Rossi in his production, I want to clarify 2 thing. 1 - This isn't an attack on Milo Rossi, I like him, he has mentioned my channel in the recent past very positively so no animosity.
2 – For full transparency.

I am a Christian and I'm saying this to fully reveal any possible bias on my part as I analyze his statements so you can keep me in check. All is this to foster intellectual honesty and rigor.

With that being said, if you are an Atheist watching, I respect your freedom and I have nothing against you.

It is important for me and statistically also for many of you.

Creationism is the belief that the universe, the Earth, and all life including humanity originated through acts of divine creation.

As we can see from this motion graphic several types of creationism exist.
Young earth creationism, Old earth creationism, theistic evolution, Intelligent design, Deistic evolution and these are primary categories.

Some of these even have multiple sub sets. We'll explore some

To go a bit deeper within the theological layers the concept behind creationism is that God brought the cosmos into operation by assigning roles and functions to matter. How that matter is created has at least 3 subsets of belief within the theistic world, and we will also address these briefly once we reach minute 9:15 of his presentation.

What I want to clarify here is that Creationism is not a monolithic belief; rather, it is an umbrella term which includes a variety of doctrinal core tenants, in other words there are several subsets of creationism. The one he is reviewing is one.

Some reject modern science, others embrace it, they all tend to conceptualize the process of creation very differently from each other. Likewise these different subsets of Creationism approach the origin of natural phenomena often in mutually exclusive ways and the degree of possible connection with the current scientific consensus varies tremendously.

The reason why the wording needs to be precise here in order to not misinform is because as you can see, the inconsistent interchangeable usage of creationism to mean young earth creationism is imprecise and it leads to statements such as "you don't have to believe in creationism to believe in a creator". This is logically inconsistent.
