I decided to get Mr Dave "Tynemouth" Curran's MiniPET replacement board for my Japanese PET 3032 - this is a replacement PET motherboard with built-in SD interface and various BASIC and character font ROMs and requires a PET (not VIC or C64) keyboard to work

I've dismantled by Japanese PET 3032's case and dropped it off at the powder coaters to be sand blasted, primed and then re-powder coated.

In the meantime, getting familiar with Mr Curran's MiniPET and some software, loading from SD and from tape.

At 9VDC, the board takes about 150mA when waiting in BASIC, 200mA when running software and about 300mA when also powering a Datasette.

Once I get my PET's case back, I'll be installing two toroidal transformers (one to supply 12V to the monitor and one to supply 9V to the motherboard) to replace the original 100V transformer, as well as re-installing the monitor (not yet tested).

The keyboard seems to be fairing better. Had already cleaned it twice with alcohol, but it seems the best trick was rubbing the silicone rubber contact over a piece of white paper.
