A Konami game with a lot of familiar feels. Konami had a pretty interesting cave-dive genre going on for a while and this can't help but feeling like the Goonies. Maybe a bit of Rush'n Attack, too.

It's definitely a riff on Indiana Jones and arguably Bionic Commando, although that came out only slightly earlier the same year so the latter isn't very likely. It takes a lot of getting used to the controls, because as you can see, if you don't get your rope skills down perfectly early on in the game, you're going to take a lot of damage just from enemies spawning on you. That's where I took 90% of my damage from. You can get into a flow, but if you make a mistake you get punished. It's also very "samey" looking. At one point, the level repeated almost exactly, just mirrored, so I honestly thought I was going the wrong way and somehow moving backwards.

Get used to it and it could be a lot of fun though.
