Part 13 of 23, of a playthrough of "Miss Clue: Christmas at Donner Pass". Jane Darcy tries to bring boots into the house. This fails, but she has success with the moustache cup. It allows her to see Mr. Reed in the basement!

They talk together. They determine that the three Reeds are trapped inside the painting. Jane can only travel into the painting to see them, if she is holding an item belonging to that particular family member. She must leave the item behind, if she is to leave the room.

If one of the Reeds tries to leave during the daytime, they transport back to where they were. If they try to leave during nighttime, they are confronted by their biggest fears. Jane believes that is the key to helping them escape permanently.

Mr. Reed tells her where his old knife is hidden, so she can get the old knife and return to him. She plans to get it, and to research the situation a bit more.
