Hello everyone! Another demo from the latest Steam Next Fest. This is Death Machine, a game that combines roguelike and metroidvania in an unconventional way (no, really, I was and still am quite confused). Gameplay is weird... You go exploring a metroidvania map, killing enemies, collecting upgrades and skulls, and every now and then you have the option to go back "home" where you remove your upgrades in exchange of skulls and can start again but from a different starting point... I feel like this is a Metroidvania with roguelike elements more than a roguelike with metroidvania elements, but I was too confused to be sure. Can't tell for sure if it's a good or bad concept, but the lack of map made the experience a bit of a mess.

With all that being said, pixel art is magnificent, so at least I could enjoy that.
