Vindel is brought to order via Axel's sword and commandeers his Zweizergain to utilize its warp tech to get Axis away from Earth! But it seems that our hero is lost in the space transition! ...Or is he? Either way, I'm glad to finally put the kibosh on this journey, y'know?

This game is [yikes].

A Portable definitely feels like it was made with a shoestring budget, with its cobbled together assets, high difficulty to force replayability, and bare minimum effort to bring the game to the modern era, which coincides with some of the B-Team's other titles on the PSP and certainly reeks "of the times." The MX engine can give us some nice looking battle animations, but if the rest of the game suffers for it, how can you stay invested? You all saw it, as the playthrough kept going the game became more and more of a chore to play and we were all sick of it by the end.

The game does have some merit - there's no shortage of tweaking potential you can do with units and upgrades and there are no SR Points or Battle Masteries to be concerned with. The campaign is also fairly short, just under 40 scenarios, making the game quite replayable. In fact, this game definitely becomes more tolerable with a New Game+ run. If you're looking to give this game a try, but don't want to deal with the inflated difficulty, find a Cleared Save somewhere. You may have some fun from it yet.

If you're one of those people that like the headramming grind, you may have a good time too. Somehow.

However, DO try this game for the stellar English transaltion! I cannot stress enough that TheMajinZenki and the rest of Team Steel Soul did an -absolutely fantastic- job, if not for their excellent work I likely would have stopped playing a long time ago. The amount of effort put in to the presentation, the quality of the script, the respect for the lore and even some dub integrity... It's all here. Well worth experiencing. Heck, give Lamia's route a try, she has plenty of choice lines! Thanks for giving us a quality translation for an otherwise rough SRW entry!
