With the destruction of the Woglinde by the Gnosis, Shion and Allen (and Cherenkov too I guess) are left stranded in space while KOS-MOS attempts to commandeer a passing freighter, the Elsa, to make a beeline for Second Miltia as per her orders. She's about to leave Shion and the others high and dry when a mysterious silver-haired lad named chaos (yes, really) convinces her otherwise and lets them board the ship with no additional fuss. (save for an errant Golem in the area but chaos sends it packing)

Meanwhile, a cyborg named Ziggurat 8 is assigned a duty from the SOCE High Committee to invade a once-abandoned asteroid now under control of the U-TIC Organization, a terrorist group long thought to have been disbanded, and rescue a young Realian named MOMO Mizrahi. MOMO has secret data that will "alter the fate of mankind" stored deep in her neural networks and both parties want this data for their own efforts. Ziggurat 8 makes no complaints and goes right to work. As he and MOMO make nice and Ziggurat 8 earns a nickname, they run into the leader of the operation, Margulis and almost meet the business end of his sword, but escape just in time.

While Ziggy and MOMO escape, they are chased by U-TIC Auto-Tech machines into hyperspace, where they run into the Elsa and Shion gets involved with their immediate rescue. Shion joins forces with the cyborg and Realian and with a party of five, turns the invading DOMO Auto-Techs into scrap metal.
