4Here's something I think about with this song. And lines from his address like "The mansions of rest" are a reason I do. So George Washington retired in 1796, and he died in 1799, three years later. So I wonder, and again the line from his address does make me wonder, if he stepped down since he knew if he ran a third term, he wouldn't live to see the end of it, and wanted the country to live on without him. That is basically this song.
