After that madness, the next chapter begins. Lan decides to help Mayl out as she receives a new dishwasher. Ms. Mari comes by as does Higsby who asks Lan for aid. But after that, things get bad. Ms. Mari and Mayl get trapped in bubbles. Unbreakable bubbles that will explode and harm them. Yep. World Three is at it again and with a new Navi taking the reigns: Bubbleman.EXE. Puku.
So now Lan and Megaman need to find a means to stop Bubbleman and save Mayl. It's also here where Megaman gets a familiar upgrade, the Style Change. Brought back from BN2, the Style Change offers Megaman.EXE a lot more flexibility. The only problem is that you can only keep one style and when you get a new one, it replaces the old. You can level it up to Level 4 and each time you level up, you get a Navi Customizer part. Depending on the Style, you can use a certain color of blocks. You have four elements: Fre, Aqua, Electric and Wood.
First is the Guts Style. He has access to a Guts Machine Gun and can use Red Navi Customizer Parts. Next is Custom Style, giving Megaman access to 6 chips on the Custom Screen. It's also needed in order to get rare battlechips and you need to have a Busting Level of S+ or S++. Custom can use Blue NCPs.
Third is Team Style. This lets you hold up to six Mega Class Chips in your folder. It's also needed in order to get V4 Navi Chips. You need to have a Busting Level S and beat the Navi in less than 20 seconds to get the V4 chip. Team can use Green NCPs. Fourth is Shield style and if you use a Shield or Reflect, you can heal for 10% of his maximum HP. Shield can use Blue NCPs.
Battle Network 3 introduced three styles exclusive to the game but two of them are exclusive to specific versions. For Battle Network 3 White is Ground Style. It can only be acquired if you use panel changing chips. His charge Shot can crack panels and depending on the panel can have different effects. Ground can use Green NCPs and has a Style Level of 5.
For BN3 Blue is the Shadow style. It can only be acquired if you use invisibility chips over all others. His charge shot turns him invisible. He can use Red NCPs and some of them are actually very good such as Anti-Damage.
Last but not least is the third and last new style, Bug Style. Bug Style is only attained by virus busting while having bugs. When he gets it, Mega will start battles with 2 positive & a negative bug. They are at random so you will need to adjust accordingly. It can use Gray NCPs AND has a style level of 3 but what you get is EXTREMELY useful such as Bug Stop and Dark License.
That's the gist of Style Change pretty much. Plus Bubbleman gets beat. Part 6 is where the N1 Grand Prix Unfolds.
