In early 1994, Mobb Deep began work on what would become their masterpiece: The Infamous. Between Havoc’s blossoming skills as a beat maker and Prodigy’s talent for digging up obscure samples, they developed a signature sound that was gritty but tinged with a haunting, hypnotic atmosphere that is still influential today.
