Mobile Light Force Game Sample - Playstation

This is a watered-down version of Gunbird, brought to lucky folks in the states by XS Games. It's also one of the shortest games I've ever played, ditto for Gunbird 2 as well. This game has been chopped up from its short but sweet Japanese counterpart, leaving portions of the gameplay intact... one might think that's enough, but the things that were removed and changed are part of what made Gunbird good in the first place.
Firstly, the cover art is ridiculously stupid (same as the title screen) with Charlie's Angel looking folks slapped on it who have nothing to do with the game. Secondly, some characters were renamed after different XS Games employees and the story was completely removed (note the "pauses" where the bosses are), which is what gave this shooter personality. Third, they removed the artwork mode from the game. Next, the ending consists of "THE END" (remember, the story was removed). Lastly, this game came out in Japan in 1995 (U.S. Date: 2003). Hell, why not just redesign the characters and change the weapons, or not even release the game because it's hardly Gunbird at this point.
The game is short enough without the awful changes, but with them? I'm wondering if I can beat the game in eleven minutes. The levels are over almost before they begin and XS just needs to stop. If you haven't played the original Gunbird, you might enjoy this, but I sure didn't. While MLF2 is in some ways worse than this edit job, at least the sound clips were hilarious.
