Today we have the second episode of the Modders Book Reviews, and the idea here is that this is a series to help support modders with their creations outside the realm of modding, and in particular, since a lot of modders become published novelists or book authors, I thought I'd do a book review series to help give these written works a bit more publicity.

For our second episode, we're reviewing "Blackfeather" by James Pursaill, better known as Von Djangos is the Morrowind modding community. Blackfeather is a pure Dark Fantasy book that takes place in a rather Medieval setting. The book follows one "Rook", a simple peasant boy from a backwater village who sets out on a quest of vengeance, but Rook is no hero, and his adventures remain small in scope, and his mistakes many. To quote the promotional material:

"Young Rook can't swing a sword, and the drunken blacksmith Hakar can't forge one. But in the valleys they still cling to old gods, old ways; an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

Rook’s quest to avenge a Wierder curse will drive him to Solmourne; city of blood and broken law, where queens are beggars and exiles rule the court. A city teetering on the brink of collapse. Poor and desperate, Rook won’t survive long alone. But in a city like Solmourne - where anyone can be bought for the right price - friendship may be the most dangerous gamble of all."

You can buy Blackfeather from Amazon for $2.99 on Kindle, though it's also available for free with Kindle Unlimited.
