Model Train Tutorial SoundTraxx TSU 2200 DCC Sound Decoder With A Hornby Class 60 Diesel Locomotive
Here I am going to fit the SoundTraxx Tsunami TSU-2200 GE Sound Decoder into a Hornby Class 60 and I have also added cab lights into the model as well although. I cannot show these due to my controller being limited to F19 from F0 and the cab lights are on F24 and F25. I really like the sounds though. I used a DCC concepts bass speaker at 8ohms which is compatible and the volume is about right as I do not like it too loud in the house. I am assume that the default volume is for home use as it would need to be louder for model railway shows but not too much.
The LED's are about 3mA which won't or should not stress the decoder out and I have mounted my sound DCC decoder where the two grills are to allow cool operations and airflow. Not sure of the wattage of the speaker but its definitely 8ohm so that's grand.
I quite enjoyed this installation to be honest and if I can do it. Anyone else can!
