Contracts play a major role in establishing binding relationships between various business units and also between businesses and their customers. A contract consists of numerous activities that have to be carried out by the involved parties and contract clauses that address specific concerns in the business process interaction. It is a fact that, large number of contracts are created, executed and managed, everyday. The key question is - how do we model and enact electronic contracts by understanding the key underlying issues. This talk highlights the intrinsic details in developing and deploying e-contract systems, provides the major challenges in e-contracts (such as, data mining and advanced transaction management) and how they are addressed and discusses some of the open issues.
