Acting as a forward for the course Ethics, Analytics and the Duty of Care, this presentation places us in the context of a chaotic and changing world transforming toward what might be called a mesh society. In this context, we see questions about thics in a new light, not merely as sets of rules to follow or authorities to listen to, but where there are no simple explanations and no simple ways to talk about right and wrong. A framework is proposed where we look at what we can do (or actually do), and we look what what we want, need or value, in order to outline an approach to understanding and defining ethical practices.
