Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight (Hard) Part 1
Each game in this series seems to get better and better. I guess this is the culmination of the series so far and it is delightful. The pixel art is better and the music is very fitting. There is a ton of variation in the areas you get to explore and some really great bosses. There is a lot more lore here than any of the previous games even if the story is identical to the rest. There is a curse spreading through the land and a priestess needs to purge the evil. There are also a bunch of NPCs which add to the overall world buiding and some even offer little side quests with rewards, even if they are aren't logged in any way. The controls are pretty solid, my only real complaint is that you cannot dodge while an attack animation is going, so you really need to be mindful of your button inputs and not just spam attacks. I played on hard which is rough to start out since a lot of things one shot you. But as you start to find more health and accessories the game starts to even out. I never felt it was unfair and I don't think ever got stuck for too long. I did die a lot though. Heck, I had so much fun with this that I went through and beat all of the bosses without getting hit since you do get rewards for no-hitting a boss. The accessories help immensely and each of the no-hit rewards are very helpful for each subsequent boss. The Momodora games are very wonderful and certainly deserve more attention. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
