after i cleared pulsria this character became the oldest uncleared modded character, so naturally i felt inclined to clear him as well

the way monkry works is everytime you collect gold (or get an item from a shop for some reason?) you get an added lamb companion. however, the character appears to be bugged and has been bugged since his release in august of 2022, since whenever he goes down the stairs he sucks up all the gold in the level like monk does, but each gold pile he sucks up counts towards getting a new lamb. this very quickly leads to a massive army of lambs following behind you, with not much you can do about it. to add on to the already less than fair nature of this, he also does not start with a nazar charm and does not have the enemies banned that he should

the reason this character has gone uncleared for so long is because he requires specific items in order to win. first and most important monkry needs a way to deal with spirits: nazar charm is the best way and the item i get at the beginning here, but smth like monocle or crown of telepathy also works. when i went for attempts on this character i would reset the first level over and over until i got one of these items
another important thing you need is some way to kill enemies without moving, this usually comes in the form of high damage but in this clear i managed to get a frost dagger, whose piercing property also helps a lot with some of the enemies that this character should have banned but doesnt (i.e. blademasters and orcs)
i was also really lucky to get good armor and regen in this video, since it allowed me to tank hits safely. plus the blasthelm and bomb charm combo is super strong and got me out of some tough situations
