With Rhea and Kovu being plucked from Generations Ultimate and on to Rise/Sunbreak, I decided to start this game all over again from scratch with a brand new hunter and a brand new palico.

For those who started with World and went straight to this game, or vice versa with Rise, Generations Ultimate is a port of the 3DS version. World and Rise are considered "new world" while GU is the way Monster Hunter was before 2018. Or in other words, "old world" hunting. There's a lot to learn and understand about what veteran hunters had to go through in order to be really good as the years went on and plenty of new monsters to discover that haven't appeared in World or even Rise for that matter. Also what differentiates GU from the rest is the use of hunter styles and arts. 14 weapons, 6 hunter styles, several arts exclusive to each weapon, 84 ways to play the game and hundreds of fun ways to accomplish your goals.

Now for the hunter creation. Think of it as a team assembly with 4 of them under my belt. World has Robyn from Japan. Rhea, her canon sister from England, holds the fort for Rise. Sparrow, while a rider in Monster Hunter Stories 2, is from Scotland. And the newest member of the team, hailing from India: Mayil. Full of grace like a peacock, or peahen in this case, is the meaning behind her name. Welcome to the team, Mayil.

As for a palico, continuing the Lion King theme, I went with Simba's daughter Kiara from the sequel. This time around, I intend on getting further in GU with Mayil than I originally did with Rhea. Even trying to accomplish G-rank from the old world. More luck to me, I guess.
