About Monsters and Monocles
Monsters and Monocles is a frantic, Victorian steampunk themed twin-stick shooter all about using teamwork and heavy weaponry to battle the hordes of evil. A naive occult collector has unknowingly unleashed a great evil that is spreading across the globe, and it’s up to you and a team of quirky paranormal investigators to find the source of this dark energy and blast it back to where it came from.
Playing solo, or with up to four players online or locally, fight your way through unique, procedurally generated environments using powerful weapons like the blunderbuss, stake launcher, and crumpet cannon to aid you in battle. Find and equip relics to customize your weapons and add new abilities to match your play style. Upgrade them by destroying enemies, vanquishing fearsome bosses and looting treasure chests. Your team shares a single pool of lives, so you need to stick together, revive fallen comrades, and watch each other’s backs.

Monsters and Monocles History
After working in the mobile game market for several years, Ryan, Gavin, and Craig hatched a plan to work together at GDC in 2013. Ryan finished up his previous work in early 2014 and they have been working on the game since. Monsters and Monocles was originally supposed to be a 'small' game, but rather than rushing it and moving on they've committed to the idea and want to make an amazing multiplayer experience.
As they've gotten older, moved to new places, and started families, they've found its hard to recapture the early arcade experiences they had when they were younger. It's even harder to share those experiences with their lifelong friends that they grew up gaming with. Monsters and Monocles is designed with that in mind, making it as easy as possible to jump into a game, and keeping gameplay sessions to a reasonable length.
