TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON WILDLANDS, THE PC/Xbox/PS4/PS5 GAME
Ghost Recon Wildlands is a military third-person tactical shooter video game featuring an open world environment. The player controls one agent/soldier of a fictional reconnaissance squad of U.S. Army Special Forces from Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (5th SFG). These troops are often referred to as “Ghosts”. They conduct highly classified special operations behind enemy lines.
The game is played from a third-person perspective with an optional first-person view for gun aiming. Players can find a great variety of modern upgradeable weapons that are actually in use in real armed forces today. There are also many different skins/clothing sets and usable vehicles. Wildlands features cooperative multiplayer mode where up to four players can conduct missions together. The game is thought to be a great option for all who are looking to play tactical shooters, stealth games and a fun co-op game. Some consider it to be the best game in the Ghost Recon series.
Ghost Recon Wildlands was developed by Ubisoft Paris in collaboration with Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Annecy, Ubisoft Milan and Ubisoft Belgrade, and published by Ubisoft in 2018.
The sequel, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, was released in 2019. The supposedly newest game of the series named Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Frontline was supposed to be a free-to-play, tactical-action, massive PVP shooter but was cancelled in 2022.
TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON WILDLANDS, THE BACKGROUND AND GOAL
Wildlands takes place in a fictive Bolivia that has succumbed to a Mexican drug cartel named “Santa Blanca”. This cartel and its allied corrupt Bolivian government is led by El Sueño, the Boss of Bosses, an insanely brutal person (he never lies though), who suffers from a messiah complex. The player's squad is conducting Operation Kingslayer. The mission's goal is to take El Sueño and the cartel down and reestablish the Bolivian state.
To get to the Boss of Bosses, the agents have to shut down the cartel's operation. To achieve this and to get close to El Sueño the agents need to gather intel, unlock missions, take down key figures in the cartel's hierarchy and destabilize the cartel's four divisions Influence, Security, Production and Smuggling.
SPECIAL OPERATIONS DLC
Ubisoft released several DLCs: Predator (2017), Operation Watchman, Operation Archangel (2018), Operation Silent Spade (2018) and Operation Oracle (2019). The Predator DLC is no longer available as the licensing rights with 20th Century Fox expired in 2020. We will play all available DLCs.
THIS GHOST RECON WILDLANDS LET'S PLAY
In this Let's Play we will see a full Ghost Recon Wildlands playthrough on the highest difficulty (simulation mode) with all DLC. We will play on HD (1080p), usually at between 65FPS (during rain and thunderstorms) and 100 FPS.
We will see the full Ghost Recon Wildlands game including the final grand ending. We will play all missions, all DLCs, get all weapons, all weapon parts and collect all skill points. So this series also functions as a tutorial and walkthrough. We will see lots of uncut commented gameplay and play the full Ghost Recon Wildlands campaign.
In the end of this series of game videos I will add a video with my collected thoughts which will function as a test and review for Ghost Recon Wildlands. Then I will also talk about Wildland's best weapons and provide some more tipps and tricks.
During the course of this Let's Play we are answering the question if Wildlands is any good and worth playing in 2023 and 2024 and beyond.
