Great great great flying day... starting off pouring rain, but then opened up just fine to get some good flying in... I purposefully let the Naval Academy Midshipmen go in front of me to wait for better weather, and it was worth it... granted, I lost the Grob 103 (it had to go out for maintenance right before I was supposed to fly it... :(), but I had an amazing day. Great cloud streets -everywhere-... usually you can't get anywhere near this high in a Schweitzer 2-33... it glides like a brick. The instructor was actually saying that typically she'd never go anywhere near as far away from the airfield in that plane, simply because there's not usually enough lift to get back. Sorry it's such a short video, but as you could hear the instructor saying, I was getting close to the max time I could have a club glider (while other people are waiting for it) before getting fined (fines are billed per -minute- over an hour). Sooo I wanted to get back to thermalling to see what I could get before landing. Flight notes: worked on thermals, benign spiral, coordinated fixed-speed 90* heading changes, minimal controllable airspeed flight, gentle stalls w/no rudder.
