⬇General Information About Mortal Kombat 1⬇
Mortal Kombat 1 is an upcoming fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games. It will be the twelfth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series, serving as both a sequel to Mortal Kombat 11 (2019) and the series' second reboot, following Mortal Kombat (2011).[3] The game is set to be released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 19, 2023.
Mortal Kombat 1 has been confirmed to feature a story mode, online multiplayer with rollback netcode, and offline gameplay. The game will introduce a feature called Kameo Fighters, which will provide assistance to the player during fights. These characters will be separate from the main roster, and chosen before each fight. Additionally, the Air Kombat combo system which was featured in both Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and the action spin-off Shaolin Monks returns, and is being refined for this game.[4]
Set after the events of Mortal Kombat 11 and its Aftermath expansion, Fire God Liu Kang creates a new universe in his own image. Though not everything in his new universe is as perfect as he planned, Liu Kang assembles a clique of warriors from different realms to battle a familiar threat from the past.
The base roster of Mortal Kombat 1 features 22 playable reimagined versions of past Mortal Kombat characters, including several who have not appeared since Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (2006). An additional character, Shang Tsung, was offered as a pre-order bonus.[4] Six additional characters (guest characters are shown below in italics) and five kameo fighters are planned for post-launch release via the "Kombat Pack" downloadable content, which also includes a skin for Johnny Cage featuring the likeness and voice of Jean-Claude Van Damme.[4]
