*Additional Notes*
----------------------------
First and foremost, I know that we were hoping for a better grinding method this season. I'd like to explain what's going on in the video and how the updates that arrived with Invasion Season 4 have affected post-invasion grinding of fighters and kameos.

*NetherRealm changed quite a bit with Invasion Season 4* in terms of how Invasions handle baseline rewards per stage and our ability to grind them. At first it seems great, because you'll immediately notice that every encounter of Invasion Season 4 offers much better Victory XP than previous seasons. Regular encounters now reward a minimum of 500 to 1000 Victory XP, with bosses rewarding 2000-5000 Victory XP and the final Invasion boss rewarding a whopping 10,000 XP before additional rewards are calculated. Before you start getting excited that NRS is finally throwing us a bone though, they made one massive change that makes this whole thing a double-edged sword.

While stage rewards are now better than they've ever been, *you can only get the Victory XP of each stage once* and will not be rewarded _any_ Victory XP on subsequent runs of that stage. That means that grinding any regular, endurance or boss encounter this season is completely pointless. Whatever rewards you get the first time you beat the stage, that's it, other than the very minor finisher and flawless XP you can get for subsequent runs. What this does is push players to effectively 100% all maps in order to get the maximum Season 4 payout before they have to resort to other means.

*The only map that's been adjusted to accommodate this new reward system is the Gateway Mesa.* According to the Season 4 patch notes, Gateway Mesa towers have increased rewards, and due to the nature of the Seasonal Tower constantly updating and changing, you can do it over and over and still be rewarded. But as you can see in the video, they've also adjusted tower fights so that you're no longer rewarded fighter and kameo XP per fight, you're rewarded per tower. This prevents people from restarting at the end of a Seasonal Tower to keep the layout without losing their rewards. In addition, the rewards aren't amazing, with a full 10 floor Seasonal Tower run only rewarding you with 4000 Victory XP. They may get better at higher Seasonal Tower levels and if they do, I'll add it here to let you guys know, but at the moment it's going to feel slower than the last couple of seasons.

If you do decide to take the time to grind the Seasonal Tower, like in previous seasons, there is a talisman that I feel can help with difficult fights. Even though I found the Windbreaker talisman from previous seasons during my playthrough of invasion mode, you're better off using the Doomsday Device talisman shown in the video because it regains one charge after every fight where it isn't used. *The Windbreaker talisman is currently bugged* and doesn't recharge after a match like it should, so stick with the Doomsday Device talisman for now so that you can use it without having to pay extra to recharge it at the forge.

*To get the level 28 Doomsday Device talisman* you first need to beat the final invasion boss in order to get her key item that breaks the special barricades found on each map. Stay in Shang Tsung's Laboratory and go to the vendor next to the stairs on the third floor where the final boss is found. Break the barricade blocking the stairs to the top floor of the map, then head to the left side of the top floor to find a treasure box that has the Doomsday Device talisman inside of it.

*As for relics, unfortunately there really aren't any that I would consider vital* this time around. I didn't highlight the relic in the video because it's not necessary for the speedrun method that I was using and the perks were negligible. Just use whichever relic you think would help you the most in coordination with your character choices and playstyle.

From there, finish up the rest of the stages to get as much first-time Victory XP as you can and then you can head to the Gateway Mesa to start grinding. *Be sure to re-allocate your stat points into Attack* using a White Enenra Core from the vendor at the Wu Shi Academy map to increase your basic attack power. I know that we were all hoping for something better, but despite the changes, I hope this still helps those of you that are trying to level up your fighters and kameos. Thanks for watching!
