Mortal Kombat Gold is a Dreamcast exclusive update of Mortal Kombat 4, featuring extra chracters (such as Kung Lao, Baraka and Mileena) and several new backgrounds. Early releases of the game were also very glitchy, and lacked VMU support -a second release was available in America which fixed these issues. However I'm not sure if Europe got this second release. My version's instruction manual specifically states that you shouldn't use the save option as it doesn't work, and there is a glitch in this playthrough when I do a fatality on Cage -just look at that running animation!
Another famous thing about this game is that it was meant to have a brand new character in it called Belokk. He ended up being cut, but some images of him were released: http://mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Belokk
