I am a new GM, and I run a campaign once a week where we have a party of six. One of my party members is a rogue who likes to steal from the rich, but he wants to steal everything. He expects that every tavern, home, church, museum, and barn rafters?? Will contain something for him to steal. I feel like I have to populate every home with items for him to steal which takes forever and then he just pops them all in his bag. He has and steal from powerful people, and this puts the entire party at risk. How do I figuratively slap his hand in game or get him to steal less often? When he gets caught I don't want to kill the whole party just because the actions of one player. As far as I can see it I need to show him the repercussions of stealing without killing the party.
