What is Dungeon Master Fiat and How to Use it in Your Gaming| Game Master Tips
The Game Designers over at Wizards of the Coast have made a big deal about including more DUngeon Master Fiat into 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. GM Fiat or DM fiat for short. The last couple editions of D&D were very big on spelling out each of the rules for game master or dungeon master. Other tabletop rpgs can run the gambit it this regards. Rules lights systems may require the GM to make a lot of rules calls on the fly. While very crunchy systems will call out most of the rules for any given situation. It's really a matter of play style and gaming preference.
