fireball's take: I've heard it said that Mother 3's considered the weakest of the trilogy in Japan. If this is true, I have to agree with them. I'd hardly call it a bad game, though. I got it for Christmas in 2006 and played it most of the way through in Japanese. I just think that it's so drastically different in tone and setting from the first two games that I wonder why it's part of the same series as them. I'd still play it if it got localized, but I just prefer EarthBound in most regards.
