Today marks the second round of the Middle of the Pack Racing League (MPRL) Race of Champions series for 2022 as brought to you on iRacing! Whilst the racing occurred on Wednesday 7th December, we shall be aiming to bring it to you as if it were live!
Following a nail-biting series opener in the Radical SR8 showdown at Watkins Glen last week, our drivers now make their way to Norway to take on Rudskogen Motorsenter in Touring Car Racing (TCR) class machines. Originally opened in 1990, the circuit has been a regular feature on the calendars of Scandinavian series over its 32 year life but is lesser known outside of northern Europe. Spanning 2.02 miles in length, the 14 corner circuit places an emphasis on cornering; direction change; and braking meaning it is a perfect test for our drivers in their front-engined, front-wheel drive racing machines!
In the PRO class, Tanner Dibble leads by four points over Jon Lauzon after his resilient drive to victory last week. Whilst Dibble did not wilt under the pressure of Lauzon in North America, will the change of car class and vastly different style of circuit unsettle Dibble? Or will he find a way to keep his fast-charging peers behind and make it two wins out of two?
In the AM class, Justin Bragan’s win in the season opener has seen him take an early lead of three points over Samuel Curran. However, with so many of the class’ drivers making mistakes which saw them rise and fall through the field last week - including Bragan - will we see one of our drivers establish a degree of consistency tonight?
Who shall conquer the challenge of the TCR class and find glory in Norway? Tune in and find out!
