This later in the video will show how "Support" characters work during assists. They'll run in and taunt, it looks weird but if you keep them from being hit and let them run back, they refill a meter of power. Also some characters like naoto as an assist will continue to attack and open up more opportunities to chain more attacks eventually ending up in a dual super attack, (Hard as hell, but possible)
