Murphy Models MM0129 | GM 121 Class | 129 IE Large Logo | OO Gauge | Model Train Review | HD
Here is my first model train review of the six model trains I got for my Birthday last weekend and this is the Murphy Models MM0129 GM 121 Class Diesel Locomotive in OO gauge. This model is what I received from my family and this version is 129 in the "IE" large logo orange and black livery with the white bands on the sides. The model train is 21 pin DCC although for warranty reasons, you would need to use a Murphy Models decoder with this one if you are going to use it on DCC. I am planning to get another one of this models to make a two loco freight train in the future. I am impressed on how quiet the motor is and the noise is mostly from the test train that I used to test the handling, performance, torque of the driveline and what would be expected from this model.
I like the new style packaging as it is more robust than that supplied with the 201 class locomotive models and I hope that Murphy Models will revise the inner packaging on the new 2021 range of 201 class models that are to come later this year. Overall a fantastic model from Murphy Models and the price the detail that you get is reasonable as well.
