31Each year our family makes the trip to Big South Cape Island or Taukihepa, it is an offshore island of New Zealand to the west of the southern tip of Stewart Island. The island has no permanent inhabitants but our family and other muttonbirders visit the island each year to exercise our traditional Maori rights.
In Pt 1 My Brother and I make the 40min travel to the island from Invercargill, and then we are unloading our gear and food from the boat by helicopter to our house.
