0I continue helping CA with an Avar campaign, followed by some battles in an ongoing Frankish Kingdom campaign, ending with a Emirate of Cordoba campaign.
The Avars are similar to the Huns in that they have superb horse archers (the only faction in the campaign to have them), but that's it. Their infantry is much worse, your only sword unit is an elite one, and you have no melee cav, a trait that may be exploitable by Westphalia. They somewhat rely on their horse archers to damage both cav and infantry, following up with their lancers to hit hard, and their spears to provide support, whether it be regular spearmen to support cav engagements, or tribesmen to pepper units far away. Just be careful of jav cav; a couple of times my cav got caught by them, and they do a horrendous amount of damage to unarmoured cav. -- Watch live at http://www.twitch.tv/lewtedhosetw
