This is, were I thinking logically. That's why I'd usually pull the lever, despite the fact that if this were actually happening, I probably wouldn't bring myself to do so.
Similarly, I would sacrifice myself were I thinking logically, because I don't have a great sense of self-esteem, yet maybe my survival instincts would kick in if this were real.
Sometimes, though, like with the friend and the first cousin, I would be incapable of thinking logically, pragmatically.
