It is a mistake to call Arch, Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, Guix System, OpenSUSE and Slackware for examples, as "Linux" in place of "GNU+Linux".
Fundamentally the mentioned are distributions of the GNU operating system, Linux is a kernel which is a component of a complete operating system.

In this speech I mainly adress history and technology, to debunk opposing arguments to the GNU+Linux name.

0:00 intro
0:13 What is XNU?
2:22 Debian GNU/kFreeBSD
3:48 What I say Debian GNU/kFreeBSD is
4:53 Debian is a GNU operating system
5:46 GNU can run on many kernels (Debian)
12:37 a kernel is a component
13:11 the operating system was not built around Linux (history)
14:42 GNU was started by RMS in 1984
15:56 confusion is not an excuse
17:08 a distribution of the GNU operating system
19:14 Definition of "operating system" & proper use of language
24:07 calling Linux an operating system is a double standard
26:22 They rewrite history
29:58 The ones who rewrite history are wrong
32:42 technological structure of an Unix-like operating system
39:37 objective reality and definitions
42:00 now following is adressing strawman arguments
42:22 GCC compiler irrelevant
48:57 GNU/Linux/X11/KDE/Firefox/...
59:46 can you make an actual opposing argument backed up by history and objective facts against mine?
1:01:58 value system argument against the name? Objective reality exists, independent of people's opinion
1:09:38 a challenge to you dear opponent.
