My Daughter Plays Retro Games: The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening
On this series, take a look with a very special guest back at some older style games with my daughter Allyson. Experience games of the past with a more casual gamer seeing and playing many of them for the first time, as I talk a little bit about the history and my personnel experience as a long time gamer.
On this episode, we check out our first Gameboy game with Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening as we are just days away from one their most hyped games of all time being released later this week, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Originally released in 1993 for the Gameboy, we are looking at the much improved DX version released in 1998 for the second generation handheld console, the Gameboy Color. My first gameboy game and also one of the greatest Gameboy games of all time, this is a big game for many reasons. We play as Link after he awakens from a shipwreck, finding himself trapped on a strange island looking for a way to wake the sleeping Dream Fish in order to escape.
