1,319The classic RPG Final Fantasy VII is my favorite game of all time, but this remake is starting to make me worry. With the news that director Tetsuya Nomura is changing the characters look makes me think this game is MUCH further from being done!

The development team behind Final Fantasy VII Remake is reportedly tinkering with Cloud Strife's design so that it more closely resembles his appearance in the original 1997 version of the game.
Siliconera reports that fans in attendance at the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary event were able to clap their eyes on a new batch of screenshots from the remake, as well as enjoy a surprise appearance by Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura.
This includes the revelation of a new design for Cloud, with Development Leader Naoki Hamaguchi recently getting the thumbs-up from Nomura-san regarding this change in appearance for the Buster Sword-wielding hero. Furthermore, Nomura himself has said that it's 'the closest one to the original (Cloud design) up until now.'
One lucky bugger observed that Cloud's new design has a more 'natural' look to it, while Hamaguchi and Nomura chimed in with the notion that the original Cloud was, well, a bit of a dork 20 years ago.
The pair said 'while Cloud may look this way, he was a dork. I believe those of you who played the original would understand what I mean by saying he's a dorky character.' Apparently, this means the remake will put more emphasis on Cloud's fun side (fans of the original will probably recall he wasn't exactly the soul of the party).
