š„ DO NOT BACKSEAT ME. When I ask for help, you can give me some advice. If you keep telling me what to do, I'm more inclined to not listen. If you really really want to see a game being played a certain way, you can go elsewhere or play it yourself. Plus, sometimes it can be fun to watch a streamer suffer through a game!
š„ Hints are fine IN MODERATION. For example, if there is an Easter Egg I may miss, please tell me! I would love to see it! Sometimes, even clarifying my understanding of something in-game is appreciated. However, giving me a hint to puzzle when I have looked at the puzzle for 3 seconds is annoying. Yes, this actually happened to me. Telling me how to play a game when I just started, while I understand has good intentions, isn't fun for me. Please let me struggle first lol
š„ IF I'M PLAYING A GAME YOU DON'T LIKE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH. It's ok to not like the game I am playing. However, do not make comments like "When are you going to stop playing this?" or "Could we change the game?". Secondly, don't tell me you are leaving because you don't like the game.
š„ DO NOT BRING UP OTHER STREAMERS IN CHAT UNLESS IT IS ON TOPIC. Please refrain from saying things like "So-and-So is live, I'm going to watch them". Only bring up other streamers if it's on topic.
š„ PLEASE NO HATE SPEECH/EXTREME LANGUAGE.
š„ AVOID POLITICS AND OTHER SENSITIVE TOPICS. While politics and social issues are incredibly important and shouldn't be ignored, I do not want it discussed in my streams. Sometimes people are trying to find an escape from real world news. Focus on having fun!
š„ DON'T TRAUMA DUMP. I am not a therapist. As much as I want to help, chances are I am not qualified or equipped to help with that. Livestreams and comments should be considered a public space; anything you write can be read by everyone. That said, if you truly need someone to listen to you, please seek out professional help or a friend who will listen. Keeping things bottled up isn't healthy. But a livestream or the comments section is not the place for it.
