My First Time Playing As The Director | Darwin Project Part #4
The Show Director is the entity inside Darwin Project that controls the extra features of the game. A person wanting to play as the Director will need to reach level 5, queue for the part, and wait for their match. If it's a private game, the person can instead create a new match and assign it a password to give to friends.
As the director, the player will be able to cruise about the map as a large drone, adjusting their speed with the scroll wheel.
The drone cannot be damaged by other players. The player will oversee the progress of the game and can directly affect certain elements of the gameplay.
The Director can talk to other players and give them information regarding enemy locations, or whatever else they wish to talk about. The player is able to respond. Directors can also turn a gravity storm on, making mobility a bit more interesting, buff a struggling player with health or speed, send down an airstrike nuke in a targeted zone and even lock out zones completely. They can also drop additional Electronics on the map which are used to create Powers.
Darwin Project is a free-to-play multiplayer online *battle royale* game developed and published by Scavengers Studio. It was launched for Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview on March 9, 2018, and is targeted for full release on both platforms on January 14, 2020, to coincide with the game's release on PlayStation 4. The player must not only survive extreme environmental conditions, track opponents, and set traps in order to win, but also win the favor of a voting crowd and the all-seeing 11th player, the Show Director, who can tip the balance in any match by using specially made cards that can change the field. Supported languages are English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Polish and Korean.
Darwin Project takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape in the Northern Canadian Rockies. As preparation for an impending Ice Age, a new project- half science experiment, half live-entertainment- is launched. Players are dropped into an arena, initially armed with only an ax and a bow, and have to gather resources and survive along with 9 others. Players must craft items and upgrade their weapons (ax and bow) using resources in order to survive and fight until only one player remains, winning the game.[1]
Ten prisoners are spawned into a snowy arena made up of seven tiles, each including different environments from tree houses to lava-filled zones and more. The game is run by the eleventh player, AKA The Show Director, who is equipped with powers to make the game more interesting for the ten prisoners fighting for their lives. Each player can choose to play as a male or female prisoner. They are equipped with an ax, a bow, and arrows. They can also choose three pieces of equipment from among bear traps, cage traps, snowballs, hooks, gliders, and tripwires. Players can use electronics that can be granted by the show director, or rewarded by getting the first kill of the game. The electronics are used to make powers for the prisoners to give them advantages in fighting or fleeing. Players can choose how to play throughout the arena by choosing different variations of builds. Builds include arrow type, the equipment used, electronic powers equipped (three per player), ax type, a cloak, and boots, all of which will also change the play style of each prisoner
