# Self introduction (1/2)

- Hello, my name is Cariyaputta. I am a software engineer with 15 years of experience.
- Throughout my career, I have worked on a variety of projects, ranging from web development to video game programming.
- I am proficient in Go, Rust, C, Java, and Lua. I have a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices, and I am skilled in implementing durable and efficient solutions.

---

# Self introduction (2/2)

- I enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams and have experience leading and mentoring junior developers.
- I am passionate about continuously learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies in the industry.
- I am excited to bring my expertise and contribute to challenging and impactful projects.

---

# Describe your favorite or challenged project (1/3)

- X is my favorite project. As a backend engineer here, I've learned so much from team members and managers. Ranging from coding skill, code review, testing, writing documentation, and mentoring. This project has the best engineering team that I've ever worked with so far.

---

# Describe your favorite or challenged project (2/3)

- I have faced many challenges across many projects, I've treated them as just a part of my job, that I need to resolve in the most efficient way possible, not as something so special.

---

# Describe your favorite or challenged project (3/3)

- About the specificity, I don't remember much about the details. I also don't want to talk much about past professional projects, I respect the NDAs. Whatever information I can legally describe, I've written it in my resume.

---

# Describe your strengths and weaknesses? (1/2)

- My strengths are: the passion for programming, the desire to learn more, and the ability to learn quickly.
- The ability to work and communicate professionally with the team.
- High sense of responsibility and the ability to document everything.

---

# Describe your strengths and weaknesses? (2/2)

- My weakness is that my code always contains bugs. I'm trying to maximize my mental efficiency and minimize those repeated mistakes. So that I can spend less time debugging.
- Another thing that is a strength for me, but, for someone else, maybe a weakness, is that I have a clear distinction between work and non-work. And I won't tolerate the abuse of power.

---

# What made you quit your previous job?

- I've contributed all of my ability and successfully delivered two products to production.
- Unfortunately, the company no longer have project that match my skill set and their salary budget, so we've both decided to part ways.

---

# Explain gap year and job frequency

- Moving living places, focus on finishing courses.
- Took a bit rest to improve my mental health.
- Explore and learn bleeding-edge technologies.
- Doing side projects that I've planned for a long time.
- The company no longer have projects that match my skill set and their salary budget.

---

# What are you looking for in a new environment? (1/2)

- Clear distinction between work and non-work hours, so that poor management wouldn't lead to unpaid overtime.
- No nepotism and no favoritism.
- A professional culture of responsibility, following guidelines, standards, and documentation contribution.

---

# What are you looking for in a new environment? (2/2)

- Code review should require at least two approvers with each pull request, and code base should have at least 80% testing coverage.
- Open communication and collaboration.
- Robust onboarding procedure so that new hires can quickly get up to speed and contribute to the team.

---

# Why are you interested in this position?

- Because it fits my skill set, salary range, and the project is in a helpful domain that I can, with the company, contribute to society.

---

# What is your salary expectation?

- I expect a base pay of $156,000 per year, with a total compensation of $210,000.

---

# Do you have any questions for me?

- I do want to know more about the company, the team, the project, and its domain.
- Will I communicate directly with clients or not? (to avoid sweatshops)
