My Negan Video. I fought a Copyright claim and won VS AMC and Latter Day Saints.
8Hey everybody, I hope we are all doing well, starting the week strong. Happy birthday to my little sister in Greece, Julia :) I love you very much & I miss you and Zoei.
As I shot this video today, I hit 200 SUBSCRIBERS, which I am so frigging happy about & proud of myself & grateful to and for all of YOU, you are ALL AWESOME & part of the best & getting better Youtube channel. Celebration video will be coming.
To the content. I have been fighting this Copyright Claim by AMC & LDS over a 'Best of Negan' video.
Both companies flagged the video & blocked it. I edited out the parts they both flagged (1 each) I disputed & AMC relinquished their Block & kept the monetization claim (no problem with that, at all) but LDS would not. I kept editing & cutting out the parts they requested & they kept flagging other parts. 4-5 times. I literally spent 15hrs editing & rendering (2hrs) & uploading (1hr) for 5 claims 10 clips=15 hours.
I actually thought AMC & LDS were together until I looked up who they were & it turns out it was Latter Day Saints, as in The Church of Jesus Christ & the Latter Day Saints. It was baffling how a company that did not own the Walking Dead property had so much power over my video. There was no Violence, no gore, no spoilers...yet they kept flagging me.
At this point I reached out to Youtube through social media & started spreading word of what LDS was doing to my video, in effect SILENCING an artist...When all of a sudden I start getting notifications on my phone for my Negan video & new subscribers.
I don't know what happened, maybe a HUMAN hand at Youtube got involved & said, Hey, this is not right. In the end as it stands now, my BEST OF NEGAN is up & running but with the compromise that it is blocked in CANADA & the USA, which really sucks but I am proud to say I fought those that wished to silence me and I won.
NEVER GIVE UP ON THE THINGS YOU BELIEVE IN! (unless you are proven wrong, don't be stubborn) FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS!
So to the ones that are outside of Canada & the US that have watched it I implore you to spread my channel & the video, it currently has about 20 something views. Lets keep this community growing. (I can't believe I misspelled copyright in my video.)
And to Youtube if you did have a Human hand in this partial block lift, I am very thankful & grateful you help me out. & if it wasn't Youtube than thank God ;)
