The weird thing about this one is I'm more familiar with the 20th Century Fox release, and even then I have only ever seen the movie, in it's entirety once. The only real memory I have of this movie is a fun Snow day. I slept in a lot further than I thought, and my Sister was watching this movie. That's it really just a glimpse followed by "What are you watching"? Years later I was on a Ghibli rush and wanted to see all of them. This is where I started the list. It wasn't until filming this comparison I ever saw the Disney version. In all honesty I'd say they are about the same really, as you will soon find out. I do prefer the 20th century fox version just a little more. At the same time though, I can buy them being sisters much easier than in the 20th century fox release. In fact when I first saw the movie, I honestly couldn't tell if Satsuki was a boy or a girl until about halfway through the film. I think it was the hair that threw me off.
