My Problem with Crucible's Roguelike Hybrid in No Rest for the Wicked
Once thing I've notices, is that getting those amazing abilities in Crucible makes the game lots of fun, but when you get out of it and stripped down from those temporary echos upon finishing or failing the Crucible, the game feels less exciting. One time you are so powerful with insane lighting damage and effects, for example, and after you feel like you are back to level 1.
This is why Diablo is so popular, you get to get to have amazing abilities and keep those, but although the Crucible is roguelike, still NRftW is not a roguelike game in its entirety so it feels kind of sad going back to your lesser self afterward. Just a feeling I had.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the roguelike elements, but I'm ambivalent because of the hybrid game's nature.. I guess.
