My Problem with Persona 5 and Expectations - Tirmel Rants
16**Like I say at the end - these are my personal opinions. If you don't feel the same way, that's totally fine!**
When the trailers for Persona 5 were first released, I remember sitting with my sister talking about how P5 must be the start of some huge movement in the Persona series because OF COURSE the Kojiro group or the I.T would show up to deal with such an obvious shadow infestation.
Needless to say, I was a little disappointed. Persona 5 has a lot of problems but also a lot of potential -- and that's probably what upsets me the most. I know what Atlus and the Persona team are capable of, so seeing something with relatively flat characters and potential story lines cut short, I was disappointed.
On the other side of the coin, I can see how everything was trying to be bigger and better than the past installments of the series. If they didn't do something big, they might risk losing their audience.
Art and expectations can REALLY screw each other up -- with the pressure for the art to live up to the hype destroying it in either production or for the viewer.
